The Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, directed by Oh Seong-ho, hosted a special event to celebrate Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) on Sept. 27 at the cultural center.

This event—targeting 30 new enrollees of the Sejong Institute—featured a range of programs aimed at immersing participants in the traditions of Korean Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving). The programs encompassed an introduction to Chuseok, the Korean culture box, trying on Hanbok, engaging in traditional games such as tuho (arrow throwing) and jegichagi (kicking a shuttlecock), and an opportunity to savor Chuseok snacks, including songpyeon, a classic Korean rice cake.

Participants were intrigued as there is a game in Egypt similar to Korea's ganggangsullae (women's traditional circle dance), and demonstrated it.

A representative from the cultural center expressed, "We offered novice Korean language learners the chance to firsthand immerse themselves in a wide spectrum of Korean culture during the festivities of Chuseok. Additionally, we have future intentions to arrange diverse events for other Korean holidays and special occasions."
